WELCOME TO RECEPTION
Our Reception class teachers are Mrs Barber & Mrs Jones (RBC) and Miss Bartlam (RB). Our teaching assistants are Miss Miah, Miss Shaima, Mrs O'Neill & Miss Ibrahim.
We provide an enabling environment which promotes the learning and development of every child attending our setting. Our EYFS Curriculum ensures that children develop the knowledge, leaning and life-long skills that they need to succeed in life. We equip the children with the skills to direct and manage their own learning and aim to develop children who are enthusiastic, resilient and hardworking.
Our continuous provision offers a range of learnuing opportunities in the indoor and outdoor environments.
We want our children to be excited by challenge and demonstrate a thirst for and enjoyment of learning.

Build strong relationships with families to create an open and welcoming school.
TRANSITIONING INTO SCHOOL
We know that you and your child might be nervous about starting starting Reception, but don't worry - we are here to help!
We always look forward to our new Reception classes starting every September, but we know that this can be a stressful time for parents.
To apply for a Reception place, you have to apply through Birmingham City Council. We welcome visits to the school before you apply, just contact the school office to arrange this. Reception places are offered at the end of the Spring Term and shortly after places have been offered, we will be in touch to invite you to an induction.
During the induction, you will receive all the information you need to get your child ready to start Reception. You and your child will have an opportunity to visit our beautiful Reception classrooms and meet our wonderful staff. If your child attends Nursery at Chandos, they will have a transition visit to Reception planned into their timetable in the Summer Term. If you child attends a different Nursery, we will contact them to make sure we have all your children's relevant records. When possible, our staff will also visit your child at their Nursery.
Early in September, before your child starts with us, two members of staff will complete a doorstep visit to say 'hello' before your child starts Reception.
Children who did not attend our Nursery will start two days before the other children so they can have some extra time to settle into their new school.
We aim for all children to start Reception on a full-time basis. If your child needs an adapted timetable we will work with you to make sure your child's transition is successful.
At any point, if you have a question or worry, please do not hesistate to contact us.
