Year Three Topics

At Chandos, we have designed an engaging curriculum with our children at the heart.

Every year group has six topics that are based on an area of History or Geography. At the end of every term, children also have an Art or DT unit based on their topic. Children will have the opportunity to learn new skills and knowledge across these subjects, building on them year on year.

Children begin and end every learning challenge with a big question. The topic then unfolds as the children work to uncover the answer to the big question and ultimately create a final response to it such as a piece of writing, a project or art work.

The aim of all of our topics is to give children a love of learning so that they are able to communicate their ideas and challenge others. We want to celebrate our diverse community and teach our children to be respectful, global citizens with a wide knowledge of the world.
